AFS 310 - American Attitudes Toward Race An historical examination of the growth and development of racism in America from the arrival of the first Africans to the continent to the present day. The focus is on African Americans and their relationships with the American system, its institutions, and culture. References are made to other ethnic groups in order to give balance to the examination of social conditions and attitudes shaping American society throughout.
