AFS 308 - Women Islam and Political Change in Africa Explores the impact of Islam on political institutions and representation in Africa. Using the example of how Muslim women in West, North, Southern, and East Africa are mobilizing to address gender inequality, explores variations in the formation of Islamist movements and examine the influence of moderate, progressive, and more radical forms of political Islam on the experiences of women.
